Candida F. Jens, 89, of Bethlehem, PA, died October 27th, 2025, at Kirkland Village, where she resided. She was married to the late Karl H. Jens for 63 years.
Candy was born in Trenton, NJ, the daughter of the late Ernest H. Frenking Jr. and Marion Frenking. She was a Catholic.
She attended Hamilton High School and was a co-editor of the school newspaper, The Criterion. During her reign she and her co-editor were able to get interviews from both General Eisenhower and President Truman during their 1952 visits to Trenton NJ; the only local reporters to do so.
She was a graduate of Georgian Court College. She and her husband operated Four Seasons Flowers, a bedding plant business, in Wall, New Jersey, for 22 years. Their business sold flowers, vegetables and perennials.
Candy was an avid reader and enjoyed basic programming on her computer before everyone had a PC on their desk.
They retired to a 19-acre piece of property in Tamaqua, PA. For their second retirement they moved to Kirkland Village in Bethlehem, PA. where she revisited her love of writing, and was a frequent contributor to the community newsletter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Jens and her daughter Erica DeRobbio.
She is survived by two children, Karin Wilson, and Karl Jens, and five grandchildren, Chad Jens, Mark Jens, Dayne DeRobbio, Ray DeRobbio, and Grace Erlenwein.
