Argero Palaios

Argero Palaios, 85, of Bethlehem, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on March 9, 2026.

 

Born in Vrontados, Chios, Greece on November 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George

and Areti (Manithis) Glykas.

 

Argero immigrated to the United States in 1956, where she later met and married the love of her

life, John M. Palaios, in 1962. They shared many devoted years of marriage until his passing.

Argero was the owner and operator of Argie’s Beauty Salon, which she established in 1966. She

dedicated many years to serving the community through her salon before retiring.

 

She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and an active member of

the St. Nicholas Seniors, where she enjoyed fellowship and service within her church

community. She was a Former Member of St. Markella Society.

 

She is survived by her son, Mark Palaios and his wife Anna; her daughters, Maria Sitaras and her

husband John, Rita Tsamoutalidis and her husband Nick; her brother, Emmanuel Glykas and his

wife Sandra; her grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife Angeliki, Ari and his wife Yasmine,

Georgia Sitaras and Jackson Kitchell, Yanni, Selia, Martina, Gianni, and Nasia; and her

great-grandchildren, Maria, Evanthia Argero, Zaharoula, and Dionysios.

 

A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, March 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by the

Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m., all at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of The John F. Herron Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Argero’s memory to St. Nicholas Greek

Orthodox Cathedral, Bethlehem Pa, or Holy Protection Monastery, White Heaven PA.
