Barbara Wachter, 80, of Allentown, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 1st, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital surrounded by loving family members.  She was the wife of the late James J. Wachter, Sr.Barbara was born in Allentown on January 8th, 1946 daughter of the late Clyde and Dorothy (Cole) Beers <-- Same day as Elvis she always liked to say.  Barbara graduated from William Allen High School in 1963.Barbara was quirky, talkative, and always made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She loved to tell funny, personal stories of things that happened throughout her life.  She is survived by her two sons James J. Wachter, Jr. (husband of Jo) and Jeffrey D. Wachter (husband of Lena Montes-Wachter) who provided over 50 years of great anecdotes.  She could also pull content from her six grandchildren Vivienne, Sebastian, Taisya, Noah, Emmalyn and Max.  However, her greatest and often debated story began when her surviving big sister Winifred Hendricks (wife of Thomas) and predeceased sister Judith Beers pulled her out of her crib to help unwrap presents one Christmas morning before their parents were awake. She will be endlessly loved, sorely missed, but her life story will live on forever in our hearts, and we plan to continue telling it. Love you Mom!In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
