Camille (Millie) Ferraro JeBran, 108, of Bethlehem, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late James J. JeBran, to whom she was married for 55 years until his passing in 2006.
Born in the Bronx, New York, on January 26, 1918, Camille was the oldest of four children and the daughter of the late Alfred John “AJ” and Ida (DiPillo) Ferraro.
At age 10, she moved with her family to Jersey City, New Jersey. When she was 14, she began typing and taking shorthand for her father during business meetings. In 1935, she graduated from Saint Aloysius Academy and accepted a position with Jersey City and Lyndhurst Bus Company. She attended secretarial school in New York City before working full-time at the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation, where she remained for eight years.
Camille enjoyed dancing at the Roseland Ballroom, acting in plays, and singing in the choir at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Jersey City. She treasured the times she spent with her cousin Pearl exploring New York City, visiting the World’s Fair, Coney Island, and Palisades Park. She also enjoyed golfing, roller skating, horseback riding, and attending movies.
In 1941, Camille, her father AJ and her brother John founded Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc. in Broadway, New Jersey. In November 1943, she applied to enter the Armed Services WAVES program; however, chose to remain in the family business.
In early 1944, Camille relocated to Phillipsburg, New Jersey, where she purchased her first car, a convertible. Shortly after, Trans-Bridge Lines moved to Phillipsburg and eventually to its current home in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
In 1990, Camille, her husband Jim, and sons Tom and Jim became the sole owners of Trans-Bridge Lines and grew the company into one of the largest bus companies in Pennsylvania. Camille served as Corporate Secretary and continued in that role up to the time of her passing. She attended weekly management meetings and remained active in the office until the pandemic in 2020. Afterwards, she continued receiving business reports, updates and completed office work remotely.
Camille was a woman who quietly broke barriers. She was a proud member of the Bethlehem Professional Women’s Association, where she served a term as president. She was also a member of Quota Club International. In January 2018, at the age of 100, she traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina, to receive the “Women in Buses” award from the American Bus Association — an honor that celebrated her accomplishment and lifelong contributions to the industry she helped shape.
Camille traveled extensively with her husband Jim, daughter Janet and other family members, visiting many states and exploring countries throughout Europe and Asia. She and Jim enjoyed cruising, and in 2001 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family cruise to the Caribbean. They enjoyed bus trips, winters in Marco Island, Florida, and vacations at the Jersey Shore.
Camille was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and even sang the Eagles fight song. She loved cooking especially, making her favorite spaghetti and meatballs, baking and hosting family get-togethers.
She was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet; sons, Thomas (Marta), and James (Eileen); six grandchildren, Lauren Helgerson (Karl), Leslie Cruz (Jason), Mary JeBran, Julie McElvenny (Jay), Isabella JeBran, and Corina JeBran; and eight great-grandchildren, Ben, Sophia, Ellie, Tommy, Victoria, Lena, Emily and Jack.
She was predeceased by her sister, Beatrice Zaro and her brothers, John Ferraro and Joseph Ferraro.
Camille will be remembered for her strength, warmth, independence, love of family, and zest for life. She was a woman of another generation who never stopped moving forward. She had the remarkable ability to balance a career and family life.
