It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, godfather, and friend, Ceferino Lao Jr, who departed this life on April 2nd, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born on July 12, 1951 in Manhattan, New York. Ceferino and his family later moved to the Bronx where he attended High School and assisted in raising his nieces. Ceferino (Jr as he was known to his family) lived a life filled with love, laughter and simple joys that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was a devoted and loving husband to his cherished wife, Hilda Lao. Together they shared 20 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love and companionship. They first met in Florida and later made their home in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Ceferino will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his stepdaughters Lisa and Wanda and his nieces Tabatha and Lourdes who he also considered to be his daughters. He will also be remembered by a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as his sister Carmen and her husband Luis.

He had a remarkable sense of humor and a unique personality. Ceferino found joy in life’s simple pleasures-especially watching his favorite black-and-white films from the 1930’s, which brought him comfort and nostalgia. He had a deep love for music, and enjoyed performing as an amateur DJ at home when he was younger. He always appreciated the way that music could uplift and bring people together.

Ceferino was also a proud resident of Little Lehigh Manor, where he was an active and dedicated member of the community. Serving as treasurer on the residents’ board, he was known for being incredibly helpful, dependable, and committed to supporting those around him. He was truly loved and respected by many of the residents, and his presence brought comfort, structure and kindness to the building that he called home.

Our family will forever hold his memory close to our hearts. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in the many lives that he touched.

Funeral services will be held April 10th 2026 at Herron Funeral Home in Allentown, Pennsylvania from 6 to 8 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate his life.
