Gerald R. Brunell

Gerald R. “Jerry” Brunell, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away on May 18, 2026. He was the husband of the late Sandra “Sandy” (Spritzler) Brunell. The couple would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on June 19.

Jerry was born in Fountain Hill on July 31, 1939, and was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Seigfeldt) Brunell. Following his father’s death, Jerry took over the family business, Roy’s Garage on Morton Street in Bethlehem, where he worked as owner and mechanic for 37 years.

Jerry and Sandy loved spending time on Chincoteague Island, their favorite destination for boating, fishing, and camping. When they were not in Chincoteague, they enjoyed camping in Lancaster at Beacon Hill Campground.

He is survived by his daughter, Bettie Jean Kichline and her husband Steve; daughter-in-law Michelle Brunell; sister Mary Spry; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jerry was predeceased by his son, Gerald Scott Brunell, and his brother, Roy Brunell.
