Richard G. Achey

Richard G. Achey, 94 of Bethlehem passed away on March 23, 2026.  He was the husband of Joan L. (Langan) Achey, they were married 72 years on September 11^th.

Richard was born in Bethlehem on June 21, 1931 son of the late Emmerson and Anna (Fehnel) Achey.

Richard graduated from Bethlehem Vo-Tech High School in 1951.

He served in the US Navy for 4 years, on the USS Amphion R-13 during the Korean War.

He worked at the Roll shop #2 for the Bethlehem steel Company retiring after 42 years.

He was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Congregation Church in Bethlehem.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife Joan.

Richard was a volunteer for Musikfest, Celtic Classic, Christkindlmarkt, Zollner and golfing events at SVCC.

He is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Sharon K. Achey wife of  Thomas Leaswitch of Catasauqua, grandson Sean Michael Klobosits fiancé of Ashley Ann Dunn of Glen Burnie, MD, brothers Edward Achey husband of Sandra  of Easton and Eugene Achey husband of Karen of Treichlers.

Predeceased by a sister Nancy Lambert.

The funeral will be on Friday March 27, 2026 at 2PM with a viewing from 1PM to 2PM all at the Herron Funeral Home 458 Center At Market Streets Bethlehem, PA  18018.  Burial in Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.
