Irini Fliakos

Irini Fliakos, 86, of Wescosville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Lehigh Valley Hospice – 17th Street, Allentown, on March 12, 2026.

Born March 20, 1939 in Filia Mytilini, Greece, Irini was the daughter of the late Gregory and Anna (Valavanis) Marmaros.

She was the beloved wife of Ignatios Fliakos, with whom she shared almost 48 years of marriage.

Irini worked as a seamstress for many years until her retirement. She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem and their Philoptochos. She was a hard-worker, full of life, always selflessly serving her family, with the zeal of our Orthodox Christian faith.

She is survived by her son, Chrisovalante Fliakos and his wife, Georgia; her grandchildren, Irini and Michael; her brother, Efstratios with wife Anthippe Marmaros; her sister, Paraskevi Caramuche; her sister-in-law, Marianthe Marmaros; her brother-in-law, Haralambos Esketzis, and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ignatios with wife Efterpi, Panayioti with wife Maria, and George Marmaros, and her sisters, Dorothea with husband Konstandinos Sarantidis, and Hareklia Esketzis.

 

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 West Union Blvd., Bethlehem, PA 18018, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Internment at Cedar Hill Cemetery on Tuesday at 9:30am.

 

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the John F. Herron Funeral Home, Bethlehem.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral and Holy Protection Monastery in White Haven.
