Joan F. Smith

Joan F. Smith, 81, of Easton, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–17th Street in Allentown. She was the widow of the late Alan P. Smith.

Born in Allentown on April 17, 1944, Joan was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen (Mill) Germano.

She is survived by her son, Michael Datesman and his Partner, William Haltenhoff, of Northampton; her daughters, Kelly Datesman of Palmer Township, Kari Bento and her spouse Alipio of Palmer Township, and Joni Young of Palmer Township; her brother, Ronald Germano of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and her sisters, Linda DiGirolamo and Michele Giamoni, both of Easton. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Hannah Young and Colin Bento, and her cherished companion, Egypt.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Alan P. Smith; her son, Gregory Datesman; and her brother, Steven Germano.

Services: A viewing will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM, all at the John F. Herron Funeral Home. www.HerronFuneralHomeCares.com.
