Victor Phillip, 94 formerly of Bethlehem, Pa. passed away on June 15, 2026 at the Mountain City Rehab Center in Frostburg, MD  where he had been a resident for a little over a year.

Born in Bethlehem, one of 15 children he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Sulics) Phillip. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and nine brothers and five sisters.

Victor was a veteran of the Korean War serving two years. Victor retired from Mack Truck after 30 years in 1990 before moving to Florida and spending 25 years in a retirement community there. Upon failing health, he moved to Maryland to be with his nephew who could look out for him.

Victor’s hobbies included horse racing, coin collecting, and stockpiling all types of collectables.

Victor was known for his kind and generous heart. If anyone was in need, he was there to help. Waiters, cooks, and waitresses will remember his precise timing in being expected to be seated at his usual booth each evening at 5 PM, and the gifts of special coins, baseball cards, and beanie babies that were arranged strategically on his booth as a tip for the services they provided.

Survivors: Victor will be lovingly missed by a special nephew who was like a son to him, Gary Phillip, and his wife Bobbi. Also, a special niece Bonnie Gamberdella and husband Art, who always kept in touch. Niece Marlene Roeder and husband Edward. Marlene and nephew William Junior Phillip who drove four hours to surprise him with a visit at Christmastime, bringing a big smile to his face. Victor, though never married with children, considered all nieces and nephews close family. All, he loved and was there for if they needed him.
